You can add a model portfolio's history of changes to achieve a more realistic illustration and performance calculation. For example, you applied tactical changes to the model and you want Kwanti's simulation to follow these changes.
To import the model history from a .csv file, follow the steps outlined here.
Add History to an existing Model Portfolio
Open the model portfolio in Kwanti. To add history, follow these steps:
1. Click on the 'Edit' menu and select 'Edit history'.
2. The Rebalancing history screen will appear. Click the 'Add' button to add your first rebalancing date. If you would like to use your current model holdings as a starting point, check the 'Copy weights from current positions' selection option and then click 'OK'.
3. The first rebalance date will be displayed. You can edit the Symbol and Weight fields by clicking directly on the item you wish to edit.
4. You can add additional rebalancing dates as needed. Note that when viewing a model with history, the performance will go back as far as the earliest rebalance date provided.
Viewing or modifying the rebalancing history
To view or modify the history of a model, click on Edit History as shown in Step 1 above.
You may click on each row to expand the position detail for a given date, or click the 'Date' column header to expand all dates. Click on the symbol or weight column to edit the position details for any date.
Charting the position changes
The value chart with 'positions' option is a convenient way to visualize the rebalancing history.
