Accessing the Watchlist
To access the Watchlist feature:
- Launch Kwanti and navigate to the Portfolio Analytics section.
- Click the Watchlist button at the top of the screen.
Creating a Watchlist
When you first click on Watchlist, you'll be prompted to create your first watchlist:
- Click Watchlist from the top navigation.
- A dialog box will appear asking you to enter a name for the watchlist.
- Enter a descriptive name for your watchlist (e.g., "Tech Stocks", "Client Holdings", "Market Leaders").
- Click Ok to create the watchlist.
You can create multiple watchlists to organize different groups of assets based on your needs.
Adding Positions to Your Watchlist
There are two ways to add positions to your watchlist:
Method 1: Add Individual Positions
- Click the Add button at the top of the watchlist.
- Type in the ticker symbol of the asset you want to add.
Method 2: Import Multiple Positions via CSV
- Click the Import button at the top of the watchlist.
- Select a CSV file from your computer that contains a column with ticker symbols.
- Kwanti will automatically import all valid tickers from the file.
Note: As long as your CSV file has a column containing ticker symbols, the import will work. The file does not need to follow a specific format.
Customizing Columns
The Watchlist offers flexible column customization to display the data most relevant to your analysis:
Selecting Columns
You can display up to 10 columns at a time from the following available metrics:
- Symbol
- Last Close
- Change (%)
- 5D Volume
- 1YR Performance
- Volatility (%)
- Prior Day Volume
To select which columns to display:
- Click the Columns dropdown in the top right of the watchlist.
- Check or uncheck the columns you want to display.
- Your selection will be saved automatically.
Reordering Columns
You can customize the order of columns by dragging and dropping:
- Click and hold on a column header.
- Drag it to your desired position.
- Release to drop the column in its new location.
Sorting by Column
To sort your watchlist by any column:
- Click on the column header you wish to sort by.
- The watchlist will sort by that column in ascending order.
- Click again to sort in descending order.
Setting Price Alerts
The Watchlist feature includes a alert system that allows you to monitor specific price thresholds for your assets.
Creating an Alert
- Locate the asset you want to set an alert for in your watchlist.
- Click on the Last Close cell for that asset.
- An alert dialog will appear showing the current last close price.
- Select whether you want to be alerted when the price moves Above or Below your threshold.
- Enter your threshold price in the text field.
- Click Add to create the alert.
You can set as many alerts as you want for an individual asset, including multiple "above" and "below" thresholds.
Alert Indicators
When an alert is set for an asset, a bell icon will appear next to the price in the Last Close cell. This visual indicator helps you quickly identify which assets have active alerts.
Email Notifications
Alert notifications are sent via email using the following process:
- Kwanti monitors the previous day's closing price for each asset.
- If the closing price triggers an alert, you will receive an email notification the following morning.
- The email will include details about which alert was triggered and the closing price that triggered it.
Triggered Alerts
When an alert is triggered:
- The bell icon changes color to indicate a triggered alert.
- Click on the bell icon to view details about the triggered alert.
- You can dismiss the alert from this view.
Important: Once an alert is triggered, it is no longer active. If you want to continue monitoring that price threshold, you will need to set a new alert.
Managing Multiple Watchlists
Kwanti allows you to create and manage multiple watchlists to organize different asset groups:
- Use the watchlist dropdown at the top of the screen to switch between your watchlists.
- Click New to create an additional watchlist.
- Click Save As to duplicate an existing watchlist with a new name.
By organizing assets into multiple watchlists, advisors can efficiently monitor different sectors, client holdings, or investment strategies.
