You can share custom assets with other licenses, including assets with an imported price or return history and proxies for assets not in Kwanti's database, such as individual bonds. The parent license controls sharing and decides which of its custom assets other licenses can see.
How asset sharing works
-
Custom asset: an asset you add to Kwanti yourself because it is not in Kwanti's database. There are two types:
- History: an asset with an imported price or return history. See Asset Excel for how to import one.
- Proxy: an asset modeled with a proxy, such as an individual bond entered by CUSIP. See Unrecognized symbols for how to assign one.
- Parent license: the license that owns shared assets. Only the parent license can share a custom asset or stop sharing it.
- Shared asset: a custom asset the parent license has made visible to other licenses.
Finding custom assets
You can find the custom assets you created, plus any the parent license shares with you, in two places.
Method 1: Asset Finder
- Type ? in the asset search box to open the Asset Finder.
- Click the Custom tab.
The Custom tab lists every custom asset, including proxies. The Type column shows whether each one is a Proxy or a History asset, and the Shared column shows which assets are shared.
Method 2: Asset Excel
- Click Import > Asset Excel.
- Click 'Show previously uploaded assets' at the bottom of the window.
The list of previously uploaded assets appears, with a checkmark for each shared asset.
Sharing an asset
- If your license is the parent license, you can share an asset or stop sharing it from either screen. Simply click the checkmark next to the asset to change its shared setting.
- If your license is not the parent license, the shared setting shows which assets the parent license shares with you. You cannot change it.
